PADI Enriched Air Nitrox

Course Overview

Diving with enriched air nitrox lets you safely extend your no-stop time beyond the no decompression limits for air. Diving with enriched air means more time underwater - but you need to be certified as an EANx Diver to get enriched air fills.

Whether you're into under water photography or wreck diving, on vacation in some tropical paradise or just out for a leisurely day of diving at your local dive site, the EANx Diver course helps you get more out of diving by giving you more time underwater.

Prerequisites

  • PADI Open Water Diver certification
  • Minimum age: 15 years old

Course Structure

You'll learn the preparation and diving procedures involved with EANx Nitrox diving:

  • Learn to analyse cylinder contents
  • Plan enriched air dives using tables and dive computers
  • Safely increase your no-stop time

How soon can I be diving on enriched air?

  • Just a mini workshop and a couple dives and you'll be on your way
  • Recommended course time: 12 hours
  • Minimum Open Water training: two dives over one day

Equipment

As well as your regular diving equipment, you'll need your PADI Nitrox Crew-Pak, which includes an Enriched Air 32% Table, Enriched Air 36% Table and Equivalent Air Depth/Oxygen Exposure Table.

The Next Step

You can apply this Speciality course towards your Master Scuba Diver certification. You also need the Enriched Diver certification if you intend to move into technical diving.
